I got stuck on peremeter road from 7:45 until 10:00, then it took another hour to get off Cedar Point Rd. This normally wouldn't be a problem, but I live an hour away, and I'm a 16 year old high school student... I can say nothing but good things about the staff though. We actually started a Rock Paper Scissors tournament with my group, another group and some staff as we were on a standstill by Blue Streak.

Your numbers are off. The crash happened at 8:10 and traffic was moving again by about 9:30 or so. I left the marina parking lot at around 10:00 and while there was traffic on the Chaussee, it didn't take anywhere near an hour to drive down the road. Traffic was moving slower than normal, but it was a pretty steady 20 mph down the entire road.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

No, it was slow at first because of the triathlon, but moving. Then the traffic totally stopped. From where I was (around the lift hill of blue streak) the traffic did move at 9:30, but it stopped for long periods of time. At 10:00, I was at the toll booth.

At 10:00 they were routing traffic through the parking lot, past the preferred parking, then down the middle of the parking lot to the Chaussee. I was on the Chaussee at that time, travel time was nowhere near an hour.

It's seriously time we RMC'ed Honda Accords...

It was a mess getting out of there last night. We were boxed in where we were parked and couldn't get out. And we ended up with a dead battery and had to go back into the park to the security office to request a jump start. The park services got there fairly quickly and got us started back up. By that time, traffic started moving up at the front of the lot where we were parked. Once we got to Cedar Point Rd, traffic was flowing at about a steady 20MPH or so. Took about 15 minutes to get to Route 6. But we were stuck in the parking lot for at least a good 45 minutes after getting back to the car, including the dead battery difficulties, which really didn't impact us since we couldn't go anywhere to begin with.

Got stuck between the accident and the toll booths, after about 15 minutes, those stuck started turning around,me included. those that turned around were directed to the road along the lake, traffic went well there. a sheriff car directing traffic at rt.6. things went well there. a normally 1 1/4-1 1/2 hr ride home took 2 hrs. I was one of the lucky ones that got to my car at 8 o'clock.

Obviously a fail on the Honda ride ops as the guy was ejected and not properly restrained.

Very quick thinking nurses went from crash victims to first responders in seconds. I commend them for their selfless acts and wish them all a speedy recovery. While it's certainly possible to be ejected during a rollover and wearing the seat belt, I'm leaning towards an unrestrained Honda driver. Sad and avoidable.

Don't drink and drive, folks.

And don't race down the causeway.

Unfortunately, the survival rate for traumatic cardiac arrest (heart attack) is really low. This study lists a survival rate of only 7.5 percent to hospital discharge. Survival to hospital discharge does not mean full recovery. This study also is on the high end of a good outcome because it only includes results from physician led out of hospital services. Most people do not get the benefit of a doctor before getting to the hospital. It was good CPR was started quickly, but I strongly suspect that be bled out internally in the first few seconds.

Wow! Sounds like the guy must have really been hauling butt! Darwin...

I made the turn onto Cleveland Rd. at 10:02pm. We sat for more than an hour on the Perimeter Rd. behind the Cedars. By the time we reached the turn and were able to proceed into the main parking lot, the lot was nearly empty. Traffic ahead of me on Cedar Point Rd. was stop and go; traffic behind me was a little slower but moving steadily at 20-25 MPH. By the time we got to Cleveland Rd, traffic there was non-existent.
