93 or 92?

I noticed last year MF was advertised and listed as 92mph... now it's advertised as 93... What's up with that?

The official speed testing they did had a peak reading of 93, so that's what they use.

Interesting note here. CP was advertising MF of speeds of 92mph before it was even built. However the MF bear they sold from day 1 last season
says: Fastest roller coaster (93 mph)
So apparently CP knew it had the potential of 93
from the get go.
Here is an another interesting piece of CP trivia.
Even though you THINK MF is the fastest thing in the park-did you know that the TRAIN is actually the fastest thing in the park-having the potential of speeds exceeding 100mph??
So if Regis ever asks you that question you dont need to use a line line or phone a friend.
(Now-I heard that to be true from a fellow CP crew member so if its not true please dont get all huffy with me :))

If I cant ride it, rope it, pull a trailer behind it, then I dont want it!! Cowgirl up!!
Luv Raptor I have known that too. But I'm not sure if those trains still actually do have the potential to go that fast. How old are they and where did they come from?

If Millennium Force doesn't go upside-down, then how could Mantis?
They have been there for a a while and I'm sure that Randy and the guys have kept them in shape...

On ANOTHER trivia note.. does anyone know where the 3rd engine that's in the engine house came from??? What park got rid of it's coal burners to goto gas powered more "envionmentaly friendly" engines???

MF 2000 - 269 laps

MF 2001 - 68 laps as of (6/4/01)
LuvRaptor, you are correct the train does have the potential to go 100mph. Also I think the answer to Rob's question is Disney. Right?
Good call... The House of Mouse has once again fallen to the realms of political correctness...

but at least Mickey now has clean skivies... ;)

It is cool to think about the train going 100 mph, but the track isn't long or straight enough to allow it ot reach max potential.

The trains can go that fast, but the hill doesn't have the oomph necessary unless the chain's going about 40mph.
Is it also true that the train is the most dangerous ride in the park? (Exploding steam engines = not so good.)

A bad day at CP is better than a good day at work.
Bill, they're talking about the steam train, CP & LE railroad
I'm thinking they better use George R for that 100 MPH run! I can't see the running gear on Jenny or Myron going that fast, the wheels are just too small.
