Lately I have been reminiscing about my time as a child at the Point during the 80s. I remember the Sky Slide, but also remember a small miniature golf course very close by the Sky Slide, I can't seem to find any info on this, even under "Defunct Attractions". Does anyone know what I'm talking about? From what I remember each hole had small scale replicas of popular Cedar Point rides. I know this is kind of obscure, but it's one of those things that has crept into my brain and is really bugging me! Any thoughts?
"And let's also not forget--let's not forget, Dude--that keeping wildlife, an amphibious rodent, for uh, domestic, you know, within the city--that isn't legal either. "
Yep, it was where the Peanuts Playground is now. Closest to the main midway was the Sky Slide, and the golf course was right behind it. Good times.

Wow, I had totally forgotten about the Sky Slide until you mentioned it! I can now vaguely remember riding down that twice. I also remember the burlap sacks and rug burn along the way...
What year was that removed? This would have to be one of my earliest memories of the park.

I believe 1991 was the last year for the Sky slide.

I remember playing the miniature golf in the location you mentioned Jillly. Yes it did have some holes themed to the rides, and I remember it being a fun course with a lot of shade.
I also remember playing the miniature golf that was on the other side of the coliseum, where the 4 X 4 Trucks in Kiddie Kingdom are now. Anyone else remember that?
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
The little Demon Drop tower was my favorite. That was really cool. It's one of those things where you wonder what the hell happened to it. Is it in someone's basement, destroyed, or in a warehouse?

Here's an old scorecard.
Then somebody pointed out that they could be making money from mini-golf, and Challenge Golf was born. ;)
By the way, great find Walt. *** Edited 7/19/2005 9:06:12 PM UTC by FrontierDale***

I loved the Cedar Classic. It had a traditional feel, and the setting was great under those large trees- nice and shady.
And Jeff, I've often wondered the fate of the stunts and obstacles myself. I loved the Demon Drop, too- my favorite was the Blue Streak. There was also an Ocean Motion you had to putt past, and what else? Those miniature C.P. icons were kinda perfect, they would have made a great display in the Town Hall Museum .
The Myrtle-style courses are fun, C.P.'s no exception, but someone in the industry should re-create one like this. The courses at Knoebel's and Idlewild come to mind as other great classic examples.
I'm the oldest one here. CP emp '73-'74
