4th of July at Cedar Point

I wanted to know....for the 4th of july...does CP put on a special firworks show...or is it just the regular summer spectacular?...I never been to Cp for 4th of july...and i was curious to know what they do for the 4th of july

Cedar Point hosts the best fireworks show in my opinion. I believe it is about a half-hour long. Beware...alot of people go to this. My tip is get there early....the beach fills up fast. And if you park in the Soak City parking lot don't plan on getting out for awhile its mad chaos. Also, unless you get there early bring your own chairs or you will be sitting on the sand, the beack chairs get taken up fast....hope you enjoy! :)

Yeah, CP has a large fireworks show, but the ferw times I've seen it over the years, I think it's overrated. But don't let me scare you away. :) Maybe you will like them.

2002 ATL Monster/Witches' Wheel

From what I could see from the Magnum platform last year it appeared that they shot off quite a few fireworks in a fairly short show. There wasn't ever like only one up there - it was always multiples. The thing that was kind of disappointing though was that none of them were very high up. They all seemed low. It could just have been my limited perspective though. Definitely better than the smalltown shows around here, but not anything like a bigger show like Albany, NY or definitely not NYC.

2001 Magnum Crew

The fireworks show was great! However there must have been a glitch or something because they stopped for about ten minutes. Everybody was grumbling and groaning about how short they were and starting to leave the beach when they started back up again. Luckily we hadn't made our way off the beach yet or we would have missed the finale as I'm sure many peeps did

Ah, that show was not a typical CP fireworks show. Usually they are longer and better. Watching it from battery park we did notice the 10-15 minute interval with people complaining, "that was from Zambelli one of the best firework companies in the USA." We figured that the wind was too strong as the smoke was blowing directly in our direction and not rising hardly at all. So we figured it was blowing directly across the midway near Raptor. After calling CP wind was the problem as to why there was an intermission and a short show. So in my opinion last years CP show was longer and better, but is was not the fault of CP or Zambelli, just Mother Nature not cooperating.

The fireworks this year really fell short of par this year, understandably to the wind, but with such a big park and a big fireworks company, they should have been more prepared. Hurons fireworks lasted three times longer than CPs anyhow...

Well it was not like they could control it. The reason why they stopped it for 10-15 mins. was because of the wind. A couple of other towns in the area had to stop there's because of the wind too.

I fugured that long gap had to be for some kind of glitch. I waited on the beach for about 10 minutes before we started walking to the Magnum gate. (There were so many people trying to get in the beach gate it would have taken longer to go back in there.) Just as we got to the Breakers the show started again. That finale was the most spectacular one I've ever seen.

There was a guy close playing crowd control. I asked, he said the wind was blowing too strong against the direction they were launching, and the fire marshall shut them down.
