For POV's for the park, you have to have special equipment. It's done by a paid photographer/videographer for the park as they stick to their policy of "no loose articles on rides" and "no video recording or photo taking on any ride". Sorry to say but they won't let you.
I was more thinking of setting it up directly with management , I totally understand the reasons why no loose articles or recordings .. I have contacted them and hopefully can set something up in the future,, thanks though cedarptforever

Alaxander, Welcome to Pointbuzz. When Cedar Point records POV's. It is a big operation. They mount the camera on the train to get the shot. What kind of 3d camera do you have? Does it record stereoscopic 3d? If the camera is not too big maybe you can get us some awesome shots of the coasters from the midway. 3d POV's would be incredible but only the park films those.
2008 visits = 38, 2009 = 19, 2010 = 11, 2011 = 14, 2012 = 10, 2013 = 14, 2014 = 14, 2015= 13, 2016 = 11, 2017 = 5, 2018 = 3
Understood,, yes stereoscopic 3D ,, I will do some off ride shots and what nont and post them, I won't be breaking any rules , maybe I can get manager to give me special views to take photos from and video.. We shall see thank guys

I have spoken personally (email) with Robin Innes Director of Public Relations and have permission to record anywhere accept ON the ride which i totally understand, getting hit with a tissue box could kill someone in a car so I can't imagine damage a camera would cause, so I understand the concern.
So what I came up with is I am going to make a "Commercial" type video in 3D and then add some cool tunes to it and edit it to make a 3D advert showcasing the fearsome 4 and other parts of the park.
I will NOT be boarding rides with the camera as I follow all rules, especially since I don't want anyone hurt and I plan on becoming an employee of CP for 2012 so I will stick to the off ride 3D video experience .. With some editing and nice angles I think it will turn out wonderful and I will keep everyone updated.
Thank you Cedar Poimt staff for responding and taking the time to respond .
If anyone has any cool ideas LMK I will be going sat october 22nd ... And will be buying a platinum pass for next year as well ;)

Too bad Tony Clark is gone. I was so looking forward to the Sir Rub-a-Dub's Tubs 3D POV.
