3 in 24

I have been thinking and looking at going to 3 parks within 24 hours. Is Cedar Point to Geauga Lake to Kennywood in 24 hours a smart gamble to set the record for most coasters in a 24 span? They together have 32 coasters, and I believe that 4 are kiddie coasters but I would ride them anyway. Also they are a total distance of 160 miles away from each other. So my real questiion is, could I go to those 3 parks in 24 hours?
i wouldn't do it.

but that's just me.

you could get from park to park to park within 24 hours, the problem is that none of the parks is open for 24 hours. you'll have, at most, a 14 hour window in which to do your jaunt for coasters. 160 miles is about 2 hours of drive time, so you'd be down to 12 hours. You better hope that the lines are extra short because if you plan on doing them all you'll be cutting it real close, I'd have everything mapped out (driving routes, ride order etc) before trying.

I doubt its possible, but let us know if it works.

You wouldn't be able to ride every coaster in those 3 parks, even without full queue lines in 24 hours.

Let's go straight to the Merry-Go-Round!

Well if you set it up witht he parks you would be able to do it. Doesn't anyone remember the show on Travel where a group of riders went and set the record for coasters in a 24 hour period? They were ushered by Park Ops up the exit ramps right on to the ride, so they didn't have to wait for any lines at all.
could i do it if i got special permission to cut the lines and travel to Kennywood at night?
I could easily see you getting to CP and Geauga Lake, but Kennywood I'm not too sure about. I've never driven from Ohio to Pittsburgh, but I think it's at least 3-4 hours. I think if you spent about 2 1/2 hours at each park you might be able to do it, but like I said I've never tried anything like this before. Good Luck tho!
I applaud your effort to give yourself a challenge.

Realistically, I can't see it working out. From Geauga Lake to Kennywood is going to take you about 2 1/2 hours, CP to GL is about 1 hr. 40 min. give or take. I don't see CP or GL giving you an escort to each coaster, if they did, they'd have every coaster enthusiast asking for the same treatment.

If you have to do it on your own, CP is tough to get all 16 coasters in one day, even when you do have kids who can get you on the Jr. Gemini & Woodstock Express.

Geauga Lake might be pretty easy to do, assuming Raging Wolf Bobs is open (I'm not sure if it is yet), and that Head Spin and Steel Venom, and Big Dipper are open when you're there.

I've never been to Kennywood, so I can't even begin to guess as to that park.

Why would you even consider it?

Each park is very unique and has much more to offer than just coasters. You are actually ripping yourself off. You will be spending money for gas, parking, and entrance to each park.

I would do it b/c if i completed it i would have a world record. But, i just looked up on a website and the world record is 40, i would be at 32 so i would need to go to Hershey Park. Also, I wouldn't mind paying to enter but the park thing, I would have someone drive me a anyone else who wanted to do it and drive us right up at the gate. And as i've seen many other people say, I go to Cedar Point to ride roller coasters.

You wouldn't even get remotely close to the record. Don't bother.

Does anyone know where the current world record holder did his coaster spree at? I was just wandering if he had three or four parks extremely close to each-other. Also, how far away is PKI. You could try and shoot for there, too.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

Anyone breaking these coaster records makes a lot of plans with the parks before they attempt the record. Yes, they do get to be excused from the lines.

My friend and I were actually planned a trip like this once, never planning on ever doing it. Our plan was in southern cali where SFMM and Knott's BF are.

PKI's about 4+ hours away from CP. That definently wouldn't work for just a 24 hour period. Plus with this thing, you haven't even taken into account eating time, in total that would probably bring about 30 more minutes.

You've got no prayer at the record. You'll need not only the aforementioned cooperation and plan, but a helicopter as well.

The only thing other than CP that Steelers and Browns fans agree on

Thanks DB, I heard of the 50 coaster thing but i never knew if they did it. I still thought is was 32 from when they set it on the west coast.
I can see this being in "The Apprentice: Season Two". 80 coasters in 24 hours.

theres no way you could get to CP, GL, Kennywood and hershey in one day. Even if you had the park helping you to run all the coasters you would spend more time driving from place to place. CP to GL is 1hr 45minutes, GL to Kennywood is 2hrs and Kennywood to Hershey is 5-5 1/2hrs. I applaud your efforts but maybe you should parks that are closer together or rent a plane! good luck to you...
Thanks chick, but DB basically told me there is no way in hell i could do it. I was just tossing around the idea anyway. But thank you though for expressing your opinion on but i wont do it, it just can't be done.
With the right planning, it is very possible to hit all coasters at PKI, CP, and GL in one day. You'll need to start at PKI, and need to get there when the park opens, then hit CP then finish off at GL. If you plan it right and get the exit passes, all you need is 1.5 hrs at the most at each park, that leaves you 7.5 hrs of travel time. 4.5 hrs to CP and 2 hrs to GL, that's 6.5 hrs of travel time, excluding traffic. If done right, you could have an hr to spare.

Now the key to getting exit passes at all 3 parks is sponsorship. Just like the group in Cali had the travel channel backing them up. Maybe you can do it to raise money for a good cause, such as American Heart Ass. Don't expect to do this alone, get a small group together, get a sponsor, maybe grab the media's attention, and you got yourself a shot at the record.
