What a smart idea this was for the park. When I go to an amusement park, I rarely (if ever) get cotton candy. Yesterday, I was there and spent 75 cents on cotton candy. Every cotton candy booth that I saw had a line at it throughout the day. Cedar Point is going to make a killing on cotton candy this summer. If, on average, every guest spends 50 cents a day on cotton candy, and there are, on average, 20,000 people in the park per day, that's $10,000 a day on cotton candy. Cedar Point will be open to the public for 177 days this season. Based on the above numbers, Cedar Point could make $1.75 million in cotton candy sales alone. Good investment? I'd say!

I was looking all day long (at the park from 7:30am to 10:30pm and I never saw one of the mobil carts all day. :( Oh well. Maybe next time. :) I supose I could have gone to one of the permanent locations to buy it, but that just didn't seem as fun.
Also not nearly everone will buy Cotton Candy. You certainly won't see every person buying 2 sticks of candy each. I saw about 2 dozen or so people eating cotton candy throughout the day. Which was way more than I can recall in the past, but maybe I just wasn't paying attention before. Other than us, I'm wondering how many people are actualy know that it is 25 cents?

Maybe I was just in the wrong part of the park.

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?
Its a good size Cotton Candy for 25cents.
I own a party rental business and we have cotton cady machines for rent and we sell the supplies. Cedar Point prob gets a discount for supplies but we pay $3.50 per carton (60 servings) of Sugar and $19.00 per 1000 cones
Thats only $.08 per serving in food cost. Thats still a good idea for CP!

Jason, I think anyone who has read an article about the 2006 season will know that cotton candy is 25 cents. In fact, I'm basically sick of reading the "new for '06" type articles because in every single one of them, the 25 cent cotton candy is mentioned. So, that's just another reason why I'm glad that the season has started...
