The 2019 Dining Plan has been released.

Some commentary:

- I am very impressed with the variety and uniqueness of options for both Hugo's and Backbeat. Where else in an amusement park can you get personal pizzas and corn dusted fried perch on a dining plan?

- Miss Keat's removed the chopped pork from the dining plan. Easily the biggest casualty, as it was my favorite thing on the dining plan in the brief year it was there.

- Sky Ride Refreshments removed the Philly Cheesesteak but still has the Specialty Mac and Cheese Bowl. The closer we get to a Mac Bowl at CP, the better.

- Coasters added a Platinum 20th Anniversary Burger. Funny that I didn't even realize that it's been around for 20 years.

- Dragon's Inn now has a Giant Pretzel on the dining plan.

- Frontier Foldovers has been renamed to Gristmill Wild Eats. Luckily the foldovers are still on the menu. If anything, it's good because both here and Miss Keat's have added Turkey Legs to the dining plan.

- Sidewinder Sue's has been renamed back to Sagebrush Sue's and has typical hot dog and cheese on a stick meal plans again. I will be DEVASTATED if they permanently removed the sidewinder fries; we needed something on par with Carowinds' food.

- CJ's Provisions and Dive In have been completely removed from the dining plan.

- This is the strangest thing: the specialty SV burgers introduced last year are being moved from Round Up to Stockade Refreshments, and vice versa to the hand-breaded chicken tenders. What the reason for this is, I have no idea.

Its definitely a stronger meal line up over last year. Im really excited with the addition of BackBeatQue and Hugo's. It is very disappointing about losing the chopped pork at Miss Keat's. It was outstanding. No big loss with the removal of C.J' Provisions since it was hardly ever open, though when it was, the wraps were excellent.

Getting even better. Hugo's and BackBeatQue are wonderfully stacked with options. Looks like Miss Keat's is switched up to have it's own unique offerings.

Looks like Frontier Foldovers is Gristmill again, but they still have the foldovers. Overall, a nice variety, which is good- in my opinion, the all-day dining plan is the best deal in the park, depending on how hungry you get in the course of a day.

This is my second year getting the all season dining plan. Looks like I made a good investment again. I got well over my money's worth last season. I already tried the new brewhouse at KI last weekend and it was great. I like how the park and the whole chain is really stepping up their food game. That was one aspect the park was horrible in. The quality of in-park food has majorly improved over the last 2 seasons.

Something else I’ve noticed is they moved the brisket out of Miss Keat’s and it’s at Back Beat Que now. Not major but interesting.

We have some very knowledgeable CP fans here so if I may ask a question, mostly on-topic. Usually I take my family out of the park for a mid-day meal and come back but we want to stay and eat inside the park this June. It's my wife and I and 4 teens so we know it won't be cheap but is there a recommendation for a place to sit down and eat with a better value? I really don't know much at all about the food options. We could do counter-service or sit down, either way. Not a snack but a full meal. Thanks for any advice.

I can't speak for any of the newer places, but if you want something indoor to sit down in the park without stepping outside the gates, I would suggest Miss Keat's, Coasters, Red Garter (added bonus of show but they don't always have their kitchen serving food), Johnny Rocket's, Melt, or Chickies and Pete's. Panda Express and Chick-Fil-A have limited indoor seating, but good luck getting that, those places are always crowded. If Hugo's will be set up with tables on the inside, then you can also go there. All those options should be on the all day dining plan (with the exception of Melt) if you would want to purchase one those.

^^As Thabto said, consider the all-day dining plan, if you're looking to save some money. You could get 1 or multiple plans, and each of them lets you get food every 90 minutes.

Here is the page to buy an all-day dining deal if you would be interested: https://www.cedarpoint.com/tickets-passes/drinks-dining

THey even offer a 2 day option if you would be spending 2 days in the park. And I forgot to say some servings are large enough that you can split them with another person. The foldovers at Gristmill are filling. I could only eat half of one.

Famous Dave's at the marina offers a very good quality meal and the prices are very reasonable. If your a pass holder, don't forget it show it for a 10% discount.

Agree with Famous Dave’s. Nice way to break up day and has never been crowded when the wife and I eat a late lunch with the kids.

Am I seeing no rotisserie chicken on the plan at any of the bbq places? I know I got that at Crystal Rock last July on the plan. It was great. That stinks.

CP Coaster Top 10: 1. Steel Vengeance (40 rides to date) 2. Top Thrill Dragster (191 launches to date, 4 rollbacks) 3. Magnum XL 200 4. Millennium Force 5. Maverick 6. Raptor 7. GateKeeper 8. Valravn 9. Rougarou 10. Gemini

Seems like Miss Keat’s also has ribs now... sounds really good

Famous Dave’s at CP is only ‘very good’ when put in the context of CP’s unbelievably bad food services. (CP FS has gotten noticeably better in the last 2, even more so in the last year)
There are actually better places on point to spend your dining dollars at and get better quality, as Famous Dave’s is really nothing more than a BBQ sauce factory that sells it ‘special sauce’ at every Menard’s and other random hardware stores.

There’s many people here that mistake quantity for quality and not disgusting for acceptable. Until recently it was hard to find the latter of each at The Point. Kudos to them for making vast changes in a few offerings at the park, ironically that put Famous Dave’s to shame as the Denny’s of BBQ restaurants that it is.

I sincerely hope, and am encouraged by the new offerings, that food services contributes in a positive manner to the overall experience at the park.

Good post, I usually stick to Coasters as it's a meal for two. The chopped up pork in the water park was really good too...

Extremely bummed if the rotisserie chicken is gone. It was my favorite meal at the park.

Where was the rotisserie meal at?

New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus

^CPS Crystal Rock. It was half of a chicken. It was usually really good and healthier than most offerings at CP.

XS NightClub's avatar

I didn't get to try that, sounds like a great option.

Maybe they don't have the CPS options posted yet.

You'd think they would offer a chicken in the main park, as its very cheap to make.
