If you plan to join CoasterBuzz Club for the purpose of going, you absolutely, positively, must get your membership in right this minute. I'm getting on a boat this coming week, so I can't print membership cards while I'm at sea. I'll do print runs this coming Sunday night, and probably one more time after that (maybe Wednesday), but that's it. Don't overnight me something or whatever, because it won't help.

Well the e-mail they send to the heads of the clubs said that the only thing open would be Pipe Scream and Lake Erie Eagles. I'm not saying they won't open anything else. But, I also don't want everyone to get their expectations too high.

And let's not be too quick to favorably compare this year's event to last year's. The fact that this year's is an afternoon/evening thing tells me that there wont be such a huge media rush to Gemini Midway as there was for a world class coaster. So expect low-key. (Or lower-key.)
Last year the park was in last minute get-ready mode and there was nothing to stop attendees from walking the midways clear around the park. We did that, actually, for a little sight seeing break. That other coasters were open was partly due to the fact that there were so many coaster enthusiasts in attendance, and that was a nice, unexpected treat, but it was mainly for the park's sake. The riders for those few hours provided dry-run training experience for crews on the platform.
And that was a what, a sixteen hour day? This will be shorter. I'd guess due to the fact that it's later in the day will mean access to other areas of the park will be restricted. I wouldn't expect to be able to travel as far as Magnum at the one end, or past Gemini on the other. There will need to be restroom access and room for the podium, etc.
So the thing to remember, always, is this is not an enthusiast/fan day for our enjoyment. It's a day for Cedar Point to conduct business by the way of product promotion. So if you go, leave your sense of entitlement and expectations in the car, smile, ride the new rides, eat what they offer you, and have a good time. And while you're at it, be sure to find someone to thank for the invitation.
