It's scheduled for February 7.
I know its for a good cause and all, but arent you people a little worried about frostbite or hypothermia???????

No. Well, last year I chickened out. I went in up to my ankles. My friend went under the water and he came out looking like a beet. He was sick for about a week. Cold like syptoms. It is fun and well worth the risk.
Peace, Mikey
I saw lots of people with cut up legs too from all the jagged ice floating in the water. The swimming area looked like a slushy, the rest of the lake was all ice. I enjoyed watching, but you won't get me in there.

I wish it were a couple weeks earlier. I was going to do it but I will already have moved. And I was going to make you do it with me, Chris.
I know I love the outdoors, but I give credit to the ones who can take the plunge! I would like to watch. Please let us know when the big day is!
Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs
^^^ I would have been one of those people who got to the edge of the water and wussed out.

But me and Brian would have pulled you the rest of the way in.:)
I have been white water rafting in may of 2008 and the river water was freezing cold! As long as you dress appropriately, you'll be fine, sort of. Yes, I have been rafting in the summer before, but try going when the water is cold!
From my understanding, 'dressing appropriately' is not included in the Polar Bear Plunge.

Well I guess it's another, "wait 'til next year" for me. I'll be at one of ACE's off season events, Eastcoaster.

Coming from someone who said Wall-E looked "ridiculously cute," that doesn't surprise me.
Wall-E is one of the cutest robots I've ever seen, I dunno about you guys.
I've always had a tolerance for cold water, and I've wanted to do this for the longest time. I might be on my way down to WDW for a week on that day, though, I'm going to have to see because I'd love it.
I am never going to live that down.

You really won't. That's one of those things that I'll remember even if I had full amnesia. It was probably one of the most memorable quotes I've ever heard from anyone. However, Wall-E was a pretty cute (clutching my man card) movie.
As for a Polar Bear Plunge. No way. No how. Steve doesn't mix with cold water. We're like oil and water. Just doesn't happen.
I participated in the Polar Bear Plunge last year. I actually went all the way in the water, but then I ran out 10 seconds later.
Unfortunately, I won't be participating this year because it is the same day as the ACE Kings Island Day.
