So on the 09 Park Map cover of Maverick with riders on the first drop...does anyone know when that picture was taken??
Also, if you were one of the Maverick riders in that picture, would you know?
Because I swear one of the riders looks EXACTLY like me! Same shirt, shorts, hair, watch, build, skin tone, riding style (for Maverick), everything. But before I start claiming it is me, I wouldn't mind having confirmation...since Maverick opened I've been to CP 26 times (a pittance compared to many, I know), but I usually only go when the weather is gorgeous and keep track of my visits.
So does anyone know anything about this picture??
If you weren't in a deliberate photo shoot, it was probably not you.

I don't know about you being on the park map tigellinus, but I was on the front page of the Detroit newspaper with this pic:

Kind of a cool feeling.:D

Hmm. Interesting, on the back of my pass
"The registered holder of this Platinum Pass agrees to these and other conditions of usage, and grants Cedar Fair, L.P. permission to use his or her photograph/video image in advertising, promotions or other publication without payment to the holder"
That's too bad.
But a sports team (usually) isn't using the fans directly as part of its marketing. The legalese is there to cover the incidental use of someones face in the background of an action shot of a player.
CP on the otherhand is very much using people to market their rides. Do you think the picture being discussed would have been used if everyone was crying or wearing "F CP(tm)" shirts?
Its not quite the same situation.

Like Jeff said, they normally tell you when they are taking the pictures. Plus they are very strict about what you can wear and how you behave on the ride. No logo's, hands holding on ect. It is always normally always employees. They post these opportunities for us in advance. The other thing that comes up , sadly, is the race card. They normally have to make sure everyone (groups) is covered in the picture to be morally correct. So you don't always get to sit by your friends. The cool part is you never leave your seat, they just keep sending the train for an hour.
My favorite photo shoot was preseason for Maxair the year it opened.. Everyone had to be dressed for summer. Problem was it was 30 degrees and windy outside that afternoon. But they still found enough staff to step up. I believe the dress code was for blank bright colored t-shirts.
They could have changed their policies, but I doubt it.

^^Again, good points by all!! However, you've seen the Map cover, right??
"My" restraint is very loose (as per usual) and I have my hands up! In addition, the people mix is indeed not very diverse and there's a little tomfoolery going on as well. Who's to say a batch of pictures weren't sorted through, and just a good one was found??
While I agree that science and production is often used, why couldn't a random good picture also be used with no expense or time? It's the way I might go!
