Ok I have a few questions about 2008 SP because they changed everything and we are buying them tonight....
1- I had a SP for the 07 Season; so I heard that if you just re-register Online that they will just mail you a pass with the Pic from the 07 season. That they do this so you dont have to go to the SP center and wait. Is that true?
2- My sister is getting one this year and she is 9 and my mom was wondering if there was a discount for little kids?
3- They changed Joe Cool to Point Perks this year and now Im confused. Is it the same thing with a different name or is it different? Also does it still cost 15 bucks extra?
4- 3 people in my family are getting SP for next year. Do we all get the Cedar Fair jacket thing? Does it cost extra?
5- Do we all have to get parking passes on them or just my mom since she is the only one who can drive? Also whats up with the parking pass? Is it a sticker...Bar Code... Stamp??? What is it?
Thanks for all the help. Hope I asked everything clearly.

Let's Get Weird.
1. No. You will get a voucher. ALL passes have to be renewed and new photos taken. You must visit the season pass center to accomplish this in the spring.
2. Discounts depend on height. Under 48" = $89.95. Otherwise, full price.
3. Point Perks is the same as Joe Cool for the most part and it is "free". It ONLY is available on the Platinum Pass.
4. You will all get the jacket. It is free.
5. Parking is included with the Platinum Pass for "free". It is encoded into the pass electronically. If you don't want parking, you have to get a Cedar Point only pass - then you can't use it at any other Cedar Fair parks.

OK the pass thing is really pissin me off. Yes I already bought them but here is my problem. You can only get Joe cool/Point perks if you get what was this years MAXX Pass. I dont go to anyother park than Cedar Point! I just wanted to get in early with a simple CP pass but no you have to get all this extra crap for a bunch more money. Why cant they leave stuff the way it is!?!?
Let's Get Weird.
Because the world isn't the way it is. The entire chain is much bigger than what it was and they have found a way to offer a better deal.

But what about the people who ONLY go to Cedar Point?? I still want to have seome ERT and discounts on games and Onride Photos. Charge me 15 extra bucks like last year I dont care but still I dont want an all cedar fair pass.
Let's Get Weird.
Then don't buy one.
One less person in line in front of me.
Or try emailing them (INTELLIGENTLY) to express your displeasure with not having an option to enjoy point perks without buying a pass that's more than you need.

Except you didn't get the pass. You got a voucher. You still have to "process in" at the park before you will be allowed to use said pass.
You still need to go there to process it. At least, that's the way I understand it.
Or, what he said.

Besides, what are you complaining about?
$105.00 - Cedar Point Only Season Pass
$ 15.00 - "What if" Joe Cool Add on
----------
$120.00 Total of what you want
$140.00 - Cedar Fair Platinum Pass
$20 Difference
So, you're spending $20 more than what you want to spend. But, you're getting free parking. So, since you can't drive I guess that's irrelevant. You can attend King's Island for "free". You can attend Geauga Lake....oh wait. You can attend Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom for "free". You could try out Michigan's Adventure, Dorney Park, etc...
Even if you didn't attend any of those parks, you're still only paying $20 more than you really wanted to. Stay home one night from going out to dinner. Or, cut a few extra lawns in the summer (or whatever you might do to make cash.) $20 isn't that much. Rent two movies instead of going to the theatre. LOL!! The point is, it's $20. For what you're getting, it's totally worth it.
EDIT: You are 2-1/2 hours from Cedar Point and 2 hours from King's Island. So, you're basically in the middle. You can now visit both parks for that $20 "extra" you're spending this year. *** Edited 9/27/2007 8:35:32 PM UTC by halltd***
Can we put this in the FAQ now?
Q: I have a 2007 season pass, can I just renew my pass by mail?
A: No, Cedar Fair is implementing an entirely new Season Pass system that will require all people who wish to purchase one in 2008 to come in to have a new picture taken. The processing will begin sometime in early 2008 (probably early April).

And even if "you" aren't the one driving, whoever you're going with will have to pay for parking if they don't have a parking pass. Might as well get the Platinum pass and you won't have to worry about parking.
And from what I've heard, this is the way that Six Flags is going next year too. Buy the passes early, and they'll include all the parks. Wait til next year, and you'll have to "upgrade" the single park pass to a chainwide pass.
Anyway you slice it, $140 is still a great value to get into ALL CF parks with parking included.
