2008 Halloweekends

I was reading on Cedar Points website about the 2008 Season Passes. On the Info page, it says that seasonal events are not valid with any season pass such as Halloween Haunt at Knott's Berry Farm and SCarowinds. I also received an email a few days ago from CP about Season Passes and it says that extra-charge Halloween and special events are excluded.
Would this mean that HalloWeekends would be excluded or not?
Here is the link on CP's page: http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/admission/season_passes/info.cfm

Read closer.

Platinum Passes are valid at any of the 18 Cedar Fair Entertainment Company-owned or operated amusement parks and outdoor waterparks. Platinum Passes are NOT valid at any seasonal events during which Season Passes cannot be used, such as Knott’s Halloween Haunt, Carowinds’ Scarowinds and Fear Fest at Wonderland.

I believe it means only at those that say they cannot be used.

Until CP makes Halloweekends a separately ticketed night time only event like Knott's does, passes will still be good. And I don't see that happening ever.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

I'm glad they don't list Kings Island's Halloween Haunt which was upgraded by the Knott's people this year so I can use my CP Platinum pass next year. But they should re-word it to be specific from "such as" to "this includes the following".

From what I see, Knott's halloween event is quite elaborate. Universal and Knott's always get great reviews.

^^But you won't be able to use your Platinum pass at KI's Haunt next year. It states that on KI's season pass page.

Halloween Haunt is free with a 2007 Season Pass but there will be a separate admission for this event in 2008.

Yes, I've been somewhat concerned that CP might consider charging for
passholders during Halloweekends, too, given that "wiggle room" wording
folks have mentioned above. After all, "The 08 Platinum Passes were a steal, we gave you free parking, we even threw in a free jacket. What, you wanted 'free' Halloweekends, too?"

But, of course, I trust the greatest amusement park in the world wouldn't do that to its loyal patrons, since they haven't yet, right? I imagine we still help contribute to that "increased per capita guest spending," don't we?

Another factor for both Knott's & Carrowinds (besides the fact that it's what they've both done historically) is weather, I imagine. I haven't looked at their web sites--do either or both extend their Halloween events into weekday hours as well? *** Edited 10/12/2007 11:00:40 AM UTC by Western Cruiser***

If CP were to make Halloweekends a separate ticket event:
-They would not be able to open the indoor houses until night (making it much harder to ink volunteers since they would work less and make less money)

-They would have to empty CP out some way, and when your coasters have 2-3 hour waits they would have to close at 6 at the latest in order to be open by 8

-They would really need to upgrade their Halloween attractions, 3 indoor house, 1 out door house and 3 scarezones is 10 attractions less then KI, and even more at Knotts. It would be a ripoff.

^^^ Thanx Mark. But see that's what I mean that CF needs to have definitive consitent info on all their sites if they're all owned by the same company. Hopefully it will be eventually. I plan to email them and voice my concern. It's what I would expect if I were to put important info upon a web site is the way I look at it.

^^^^ I went to KI Halloween Haunt opening night. I'll make a seaparate thread about it comparing it to HW.

^ I'll elabroate about KI HH vs CP HW. But one thing is they have less room. I counted they only have one more attractoin than CP HW (off the top of my head). So CP wouldn't have to upgrade for that reason. BUT I hope they keep it like it is for Pass holders and not a seaparate ticket event. I go more during HW than the Summer and the pass certainly helps to be able to do that. Not to mention convenience of not having to buy a ticket and track down the best price. *** Edited 10/12/2007 8:35:16 PM UTC by HalloWeekends!***

^^I don't think you follow. What is meant by charging separate admission for the entire day, not just the evening portion of Halloweekends.

**Disclaimer. I may be wrong. If they do what Touchdown said, then I did not know that and I am mistaken.
