Hopefully someone may have the answer to these questions. When does CP announce their rates for 2006 resorts? When do they start taking reservations for 2006? I'm planning on getting a group of friends and family together for sometime in May and want to have an idea on price. And yes it is going to be a long offseason.
I would say sometime within the next 6 months.
2005/2006: Cedar Point - Millennium Force
2007/2008/2009: Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom - Tomorrowland Speedway
2008: Hard Rock Park - Maximum RPM! Opening Supervisor
2008/2009: Universal Orlando - Men in Black: Alien Attack Team Leader, Guest Services Coordinator
You can make your reservations 2 years in advance. I have done this before, and I have reserved the presidential suite for the weekend when I go up.
You can make reservations in advance by calling. They don't announce the package rates till late Feb. early Mar. I was in the same boat last offseason...I knew when i wanted to reserve but didn't know the package rates. I called and they reserved a room for me but, in order to get the discounted package rates i had to call back after they announced the rates for the following year and "upgrade" my reservation. They will have rooms in most hotels trust me. I would just wait until they announce the rates then book. That way you know what you are getting into price wise. The off season can be a grueling one when you are looking forward to reserving for the next season so i know how you feel. Just hang in there opening day is right around the corner!
I believe even the regular room rates aren't set until mid-winter sometime---you can make a reservation, though, and presumably they use last year's rate for the deposit.
Go by last year's rates, and assume they will go up some (say 5-10%). Resort rates may go up a bit more than in past years, to help offset the lower admission price. At least that's my bet.
