We all know what is going to happen next year for Magic Mountain. Even though some people on this forum say "Oh well", "who cares" and "quality over quantity" doesn't Cedar Point want that "Most Coasters record? Even though they will lose the record for next year, do you think they will build 2 roller coasters to reclaim their title? After SFMM has gotten Goliath, and now the 3 new coasters, how long will it be before they can get a new coaster?

I wonder...has CP ever built two coasters in one year? I don't recall this happening in my lifetime. Anyone know? It seems to me that it's not something Cedar Fair likes to do.

Didn't Kinzel say we were getting a filler ride in 2002. Little spending in the next two years may mean something big in 2003.
Wait! Did you notice that 2002 is a palindrome? It's exactly the same foreward and backward.
I think that because of that CP will get some kind of boomerang style coaster. Maybe not a boomerang, but something of the same general idea.
I hope they do, just so we can all cry "Hypocrite!" whenever they claim 15 coasters. ;)

I don't think those people who do say "quality over quantity" give SFMM enough credit. SFMM has tons of GREAT coasters. Riddler, Goliath, Viper, Batman are all world class record breaking coasters. And the other "weaker" rides are just as good as Cedar Point's "weaker" coasters. For example, SFMM Ninja fairs well in comparison to CP Iron Dragon, and etc. Too many people claim that SFMM doesn't have good rides just because they'll beat CP's record in 2001. Now that I probably got this thread closed I can relax. (I wanted to get that off my chest)

Isn't he the same person that we could expect 2001 to change the look of the park? Well then I wouldn't get to excited about filler rides in 2002 because I wouldn't say they are exactly changing the look of the park this year.

What do you mean they aren't changing the look of the park? Aren't they redoing the entire main midway? Maybe that is not what you wanted the park to do, but it will certainly change the look of the park.

Both CP and SFMM fail in the woodie quality department! From what I've heard neither Psyclone or Colossus offers any airtime and both of them are overbraked just like Mean Streak! Blue Streak is OK but not worth the lng drive when ther are coasters much better like Shivering Timbers! CP NEEDS a Shivring Timbers quality woodie but I doubt they would get it because they don't want to spend the money to maintain a woodie as well as Holiday World! Why doesn't CP try to build something as good as Holiday World's woodies and maintain and run them that way? HW doesn't make the big bucks that CP has yet they get an A in both running and maintaing their woodies! This lead back to the quality vs quanity and why I don't support parks that kills the airtime in their woodies! Now if a new world class woodie get built at either CP or SFMM and they learn how to run them right you can bet I will be there to try it!!!
Okay this is not a topic about MM vs. CP or how good Cedar Point roller coasters are. I just wanted to know will they build 2 coasters to get their record back. Muh Gawd
