As we get into the 2001 season, I was wondering ABOUT when we could get an announcement on a new ride/coaster??? Will guide To The Point put up a new forum on the coaster like Millennium Force? I sure hope so!!!!!!!!! Great job Jeff!!!!!!!!! Also, what kind of ride/coaster expected, and where do you think it'll go???????????

Well I know Jeff doesn't like it:), but there is a rumor of a sign near DT (from Coasterbuzz) that says "Thrust yourself into 2002 with massive air". Has anyone noticed it?, I'm not sure what I believe of it until I see a picture.

Whoever that is or whoever "they" are who are pushing that rumor is really hitting it pretty hard. I've read 2 different people (or could be the same person) swear that they saw that sign. Sometimes these people want to mess with peoples heads so badly that I think they start believing the lie themselves... kinda sad...

I haven't seen any sign either, but I wasn't looking for one. I'll go over the area carefully tomorrow, in case I missed something. This sound bogus to me, putting up a sign like that before an announcement is just not Cedar Point's style of doing things.

The sign was there but unfortunately it sunk, and then they sold it to an amusement park in Mexico City.

Hey gang, I just read under the Millennium Force thread section that Jeff said the first pieces of MF track arrived in December, 1998. So does that mean that IF Cedar Point is planning on building a coaster for 2002, the tracks are already there? On a side note, is there a "specific" amount of time that tracks should "arrive" at a park?

No.. it varies as to when track arrives.. it varies on the parks needs.. the ride manufacturers needs.. things like that..

Look at X-Flight.. track didn't arrive till Nov if I remember..
