Maybe it's just me. I hate the new park map!!!!
I'm buying a new house this summer and I'd already planned on buying a large park map, getting it framed and putting it on a wall in my office. Now, I don't think I will. I'm a relatively new fan of Cedar Point so I don't know how the park maps have looked over the years but I was amazed with the detail of last year's map. The new map reminds me of a Six Flags map. That sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyhow, Cedar Point is great. You would not believe how often I talk about CP and MF. My friends are like, enough already!!! I can't help it!! I don't expect this to elicit much response, I just had to get that out. Thanks, Jeff for a killer website. What would I do without it?
yes I think it look bad compared to past maps
Yes this one lacks details such as trees etc.

"Any day, is a great day, to ride a rollercoaster!"
Not to mention there are no names of the smaller attractions and foot places.
I agree that the new map doesn't have the detail of last year's, it's kinda bland, and it basically sucks. But I'm not totally convinced that this will be the actual map printed by the park. It looks horribly amateur compared to last year's and I'm trying my hardest to believe that they will print out something more similar to the maps from the past.
Everyone cross their fingers...

I agree w/ everyone... although it hasn't hit Six Flags standards yet it really did seem to drop in quality!

I'm sure the one that is on the website is the one they will put in the park's fun guide. As fo rhte suvinior map, I'll be just like past years.
Although I am not too fond of this years map, I cant help but notice the large space behind/next to Mean Streak.... This map was probably modified for future attractions. Some kind of launched coaster sounds good, doesn't it???
You know, there are generally a couple of versions of the map with varying degrees of detail. The souvenier map generally has the most detail while the smaller, brochure map has less so as not to clutter up the little thing.

The map is ugly and lacks quality like in the past. If the souvenir map looks anything like it then that's ridiculas becasue it's flat out tacky!!!!!!
Also there is the green map.:)
I must agree that map looks like a child made it on a computer. I think it is 10x worse than any Six Flags map I have ever seen. I know we're all for Cedar Point here but come on! The best amusement park in the world deserves MUCH better! Please oh please.
I can just see someone at the point scratching their head in disbelief that people are critiqueing a document that serves no purpose other than to show you around. And it does fulfill its purpose.

Jeff I have to disagree. The map on the internet attracts visitors, and the map on the internet does not look like the Best Amusement Park in the world. The maps at the park, people take home for memories. I mean really, Cedar Point has many awesome rides, and great landscaping, they need to show it off. People should walk into the park open the Fun Guide and be amazed by all the attractions, and made happy of the wonderful park to come. I know I'm really putting it down but I really think they can do a lot better. "Be the BEST that you can be"
I wish they made trees and landscaping this year instead of just coloring it in green but why worry about a park map when the park is what you are really going there for.:)

Gee, look at what I've started!!!
This at least let's me know it's not just me.
I think that the problem isn't so much that people are critiquing (sp?) this year's map, as they are confused by the fact that all it is is a less detailed, uglier version of last years map.
Thats just my 2 cents...
ARGGHH!!! just wait 'till you June...then you can pick up a survinuoir copy in teh park and it will look just like it's always been + a 310 ft coaster. The park is usually late in getting the new maps out. I went last May and they were still selling the maps from the previous year.
Okay what's the diff between the diffrent maps... and wehre are the survinuoir maps found?

They sell the souvenir maps in most of the gift shops. It is mostly just bigger. I found that the hotel gift shops get them in before the park gift shops.
