1970 new rides

This is a list of rides added to the park in 1970, the resorts centennial season.
Wildcat
Schwabinchen
Bayern Kurve
Dodgem
Calypso
Monster
Kiddieland expansion

I know I am missing somewthing. Also the park moved the main train station to its current location and removed the Hollywood wax museum and put the Centennial Theater in its place.

Anyone go to the park in 1970? It must of been exciting to see so many new rides in one season.

P.S. Anyone remember the old Dodgem that was in the front of the park near where Midway Market is now? I had forgoten all about it until I swa an old map of the park form the 19702 at the Sandusky library.

Tiki Twirl opened in 1970, as did the Hofbrau. Also, the Calypso, which had been moved to the area now occupied by the Aquatic Stadium, returned to the site next the Silver Dollar to make room for WildCat.

1970 was the first year for both the "pay one price" general admission plan and the starlight evening ticket.

I will never forget my trip in 1970. That's the trip that cured me of my fear of roller coasters, and the coasters that did it was Blue Streak and Wild Mouse.
