18 or 21 For Sand Castle???

Whats the age requirement for Sand Castle? Is it 18 or 21 yrs of age. I guess I could call, But I figured I'd ask here first!!

I would imagine 18, as most motels and hotels let you rent at 18.

I think Ohio has a law that states you must be 21 to rent a room. Each time we traveled to the Point last year they asked if I was under 21, I then asked them what difference it made and they said it was a law that they could not rent to anyone under 21. That really squealched my 18 year old plans for the summer. Oh well.

I was ready to make my Breakers reservations a week ago. I called and talked to the clerk, and she asked me if I was under 21, and I said yes. Then she asked if I was coming with family or a group of friends, and I said a group of friends. After that she told me she could not reserve a room unless I was 21. I am 16, my friend is 18, and my other friend is 20. We went at the end of last season, and stayed at Breakers twice. I had no problem making reservations. When I got there, she asked for my ID, I showed it to her and she had to call home and make sure it was OK with my owners that I was there. After that I had to sign a paper saying that I would pay for anything damaged and that security would be monitoring the room.

I didn't mind at all, and I appreciate them being so cooperative and nice. The thing that gets me is that they will not let me make reservations this year.

Although, Hotel Breakers' Rule is that you must be 21 to check in, from what I understand.

I have had that problem before, my mom has to make all the reservations, in Ohio you don't have to be 21 to pay for a room, but you do have to be 21 to Reserve a room. I don't know why, but that's the way it is.

As a longtime veteran of a number of hotel front desk positions, including Auditor and Night Manager, I can tell you that there is **NO** law in Ohio requiring you to be 21 years of age to reserve or rent a hotel room.

Since renting a room constitutes a contract between you and the Innkeeper, you must be 18, as a minor cannot legally enter a contract.

There are many companies which have in-house policies concerning minimum age for guests, but if you are 18, you can reserve or rent a hotel/motel room, or pay for services at a Bed & Breakfast, Hostel, or other form of lodging.

Regardless of Ohio law, you must be 21 to reserve a room at Cedar Point. It is their perogative to make that policy. As Tyler stated, the park will make every effort to contact parents of groups where no 21 year old is present and, as you may expect, there are times when parents are not too happy to hear that their son/daughter is shacking.

I suspect it has more to do with the legal drinking age (it's not illegal to have sex... well, in some cases). You don't want to be responsible for harboring underage consumption. That's the reason many colleges prefer to have a dry campus policy regardless of age.

LOL..Jeff..Well I went to MSU and we all know there history with drinking..especially lately..Riot anyone?? :(.. I love my Spartans though..anyways back to the subject at hand..
