Its been that long. I remember how long the line was and the first ride was really sort of unremarkable. I didn't have the feeling of I love it and can't wait to get back on like when I first rode Magnum or Raptor is was like I rode it now lets do something else. But on my second ride during that season's Coastermania I really feel in love with the line and it became one of my favorites
I remember Opening Day near the IMAX Theater entrance. Jeff, Walt, and all of the crazies were out full force at 4:45am!!! Never forget it! Still have the video of that crazy marathon day! Probably rode MF 5 times the whole day! WOOOOOT!
(Ahhh, man! That means I was 10 years younger too!! damn!!!)

I didn't ride the 1st year, or the 2nd year, or the 3rd year. But I remember sitting at the base of the lift hill in frontier trail, opening year, watching the elevator lift pulleys, and the cars going way-way up. Then the riders were actually holding their hands up on the 1st drop, they were nuts. :)
I then flew - in a HUGE jet - DELTA - to Walt Disney World. I have never been so scared in my whole life. That flight, my 1st, and almost last, in any airplane, down to Florida ruined all my fear of rollercoasters.
So I tried MF. I actually cussed all the way down the 1st hill, and didn't realize my son was with me on the ride until going up the -3rd?- hill after the tunnel.
The 2nd ride I held my hands up down the 1st hill, then hit TTD for the 1st time after that, which scared me almost as much as my 1st jet flight, until the launch, then I was fine.
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.
Although it wasn't 10 years ago, my first ride was a mixed review. It was great until about 3/4 up the lift hill when the slight drizzle turned into a torrential downpour. (remember when coasters ran in the rain?) I could barely open my eyes for the entire circuit. It was still an awesome ride...I've never felt so much pleasure and so much pain at the same time.

I remember my first Millennium ride. It was opening year, around July, I was 14 and my buddy spent the entire 2 or 3 hour wait trying to talk me into getting on (I'm scared of heights). He kept saying 'trust me, you'll thank me'. I rode, got off, and sure enough...I thanked him.
Still, to this day, it is the only coaster at Cedar Point that scares me. The lift is so steep, there is no comfort of a stair rail running all the way up the side, there are the stories of the lift breaking and being stuck 270 feet in the air for hours that result in evacuations that only add to the terror. And after it's scared me for about 30 seconds it sends me over the top and on to pure heaven.
#1 in my book.
My first ride was in it's second year, June of 2001. Like a lot of people your all excited about it, but when you see it in person you start to have second thoughts. Our stay was two full days, if I would have rode it the first day the line would have been much shorter, but I was really terrified of the height so didn't ride it the first day.
Second day I decided to ride it, we had traveled up to the Point for the main reason to ride Millennium Force. So that was the first thing we did, we stayed at Breakers Express and didn't know about the ERT, we entered the park at ten and headed straight for the Force. The line had already got to the pop machines, and was around an hour.
I can still remember walking into the station, the gates opening and seating down. The most thing that scared me a bit was how fast the train goes up the lift, that first ride I did not have my hands up, the little pop of air going over the first drop was an surprise. But after the first drop I was fine, being scared and nervous went out the side of the train on the first drop. Don't remember much of the ride after that, just that I really enjoyed it and haven't been on anything more smoother. After we got off, the ling was up to two hours.
We (my dad) then rode it that night to.

Happy Birthday Millenium Force. :) Time flies by way too fast these days.
"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"
Unfortunately, my first ride wasn't until 2008 which was also my first trip ever to CP. I remember more than anything being excited to ride Millennium Force. Got to the park mid-afternoon and by the time a buddy and I made it to Frontier Trail, I remember walking past the lift hill to the queue and looking up and thinking "HOLY SH&^...it didn't look this high from the videos I'd seen. I was too nervous the first day. Next day we hit Maverick first and before the park opened I said "We're doing MF NOW!" My mouth was dry, my heart was pounding-the height made me nervous. It was a walk-on that morning and I remember telling myself you ARE riding this-you are NOT backing out.
Soon as the air gates opened and we buckled in, I knew this was gonna be something special. I wasn't as nervous-eager anticipation is more what I began feeling sitting in the train. I loved how it sort of jut shot out of the station and I'll never forget how you're almost instantly at that 45 degree angle heading up. When we crested the lift hill, I remember feeling the biggest smile break out on my face. I can still remember the incredible feeling going down that drop for the first time. Finally, a drop long enough to actually enjoy it all the way down.
Love the overbanked turns, and the pop of floater air going over the second hill. And night rides are the most incredible. Back seat only for this baby! NOTHING like getting yanked over the hills.
Millennium Force is still my favourite steel coaster. I love coasters but none make me feel quite as good as this one does. Usually get a minimum of 5 rides every morning before the park opens to the GP. Best ever record was 13 rides before 10 AM last June. I forget how many times I rode it in 07, but know it was a little over 80 last season.
#1 in my book and I don't see that slipping for a long time to come.
I waited four hours for a ride on Millennium Force the first time on opening day. It was worth every minute. I watched it being built from nothing so the wait was not very long for myself.
Didn't get a chance to ride until 2004 (okay, I could have gone on it in 02 or 03, but I was 8 in 02 and 9 in 03, and scared to death of the monster.) It was, and is still to this day, the scariest thing I've ever done. I entered the line rather casually, but as I saw more trains leave the station and got closer to the front line, I began to have second thoughts. My dad convinced me that the front seat would be best, so I got to spend another 20 minutes watching equally terrified people get on in front of us. Stepping into the front seat alongside an equally terrified father, I seriously questioned my sanity. I put on my seatbelt, pushed down the lap bar as hard as I possibly could, and watched anxously for the thumbs up from the ride op. Soon, I was beginning to rise up the hill, and holding back tears as 10 year old me hit that spot on the hill where the train begins to travel faster. And as I began my descent, my terror turned quickly to absolute amazement. I left that ride with the feeling that I had conqured the world, and MF and TTD still remain the only two rides that scare me.
Going to SFGAm last year, I realized that after 4 years, I have got to do anything possible to get back on that thing.
How many went to AAA Preview Day, which was the Sunday before Media Day and Opening Day? That was my first ride on Millennium Force, a three hour wait but was worth it then and still worth it 10 years later!
MF Circuits=3,011(272)
My first ride was opening day last year.. We got in after the ERT because we were staying off property so the line was long when we got there..Since it looked like rain was coming we waited the xtra 30 minutes or so for front row. It was 1000000% worth it. Most exhilarating experience on any coaster in my life. That first drop was something i'll never forget and that ride will always be my favorite coaster.
First time to Cedar Point was opening day 2009, 7 hours in line for TTD, 2 rollbacks =)
