First visit this season and I've noticed a few changes, some of which I don't think have been mentioned. I take it this is the best thread to post about these changes.
1. I noticed the barnyard/farm animals have expanded. There's additional pens behind the cabins next to the original barn yard. There is a also a new area for pony rides near the entrance of frontier town after the millennium tunnel. You can no longer cut through the black smith area.
2. They are a lot more strict with security (new official booths at each entrance of the park). At least it's more organized than the makeshift booths they had right at the gate.
3. Stricter ride procedures where every ride pretty much forces you to get a locker. Also, glasses are no longer allowed unless they have the athletic strap. I did not expect this change so I did not bring my strap with me (I never have had a problem with my glasses falling off any ride). Sort of an inconvenience because I could not see anything, lol!
4. New banners (they were building the boards in the millenium queue as I was waiting) for the "battle for cedar point" app/game. Sounds like they are really pushing this. They look nice and add some theming!
5. Even though the beach was completely infested with May flies and dead fish, I saw employees putting out beach games like corn hole, jenga, etc. Don't recall this in the past. They really need to wipe down the chairs and lounges that are out on the beach because they are full of bugs and sand/dirt. Doesn't seem very inviting other than the games.
I'll probably notice more so I'll post later. Here the rest of the day!
6. New fancy automatic trash cans. Look a lot nicer than the old trash cans.
7. Noticed they no longer have lids for cups? Needed one because May flies kept landing in my drink but no place seemed to have them. Seems like something pretty basic they should carry.
8. The new Cedar Point Shores plaza by magnum looks great. They incorporated the Magnum photo booth in the side of the CPS entrance. Was wondering if/where they were going to place it. Opens up the area nicely
Lights, Camera, Action! at the Jack Aldrich Theatre is also new for this year. It is another solid high-energy production. Yet again Live E really has some great performers this year. The stamina required from everyone involved to perform these shows all day and all season, especially at the Jack Aldrich shows, is just unreal.
The new cast at Lusty Lil's has quickly settled into their roles. Such a fun show!
Judging by the rehearsals over the last week or so it appears that Luminosity is the exact same show as last season. Still, it's quite the production and a real spectacle.

Where did you run into this? It has been policy for years on Power Tower, Wicked Twister, Dragster, Maverick, and GateKeeper, but not on any of the other rides. I wasn't there for CoasterMania, but a week or two earlier nothing had changed...
